Curly Sue exists in real life. Her real name is Curly Sue. In July of 2020, a Good Samaritan found Curly Sue wandering the streets of West Covina, CA with no chip and no tag.  After efforts to find any prior owner failed, she entered Heart and Home Animal Rescue Foundation foster care. Curly Sue found her boy on the Petfinder app. According to her Embark DNA test she is 63% small poodle, 7% Shih Tzu, 6% Pomeranian,  5% Cocker Spaniel, and 19% Supemutt. She spends her days in Santa Monica, CA, waiting for her boy to come home from school.
